All
Star Group client Oscar Salazar's contract was purchased today by the
Baltimore Orioles. The moves comes after a scorching start for the thirty year
old, who was leading the Triple-A International League in hitting (.372) at the
time of his promotion. Oscar had also hit ten homeruns, driven in forty-three
RBI and had a .618 slugging percentage with the Norfolk Tides.
This
will be Salazar's second tour of duty with the Orioles major league club. Last
season Oscar played in thirty-four games with the O's, when he hit .284/.372/.512.
Oscar
is expected to serve as the team's primary right-handed bat off the bench, as
well as a utility role.
