Orioles Purchase Santos' Contract

Omir Santos

All Star Group client Omir Santos will be making his MLB debut this week after the Baltimore Orioles purchased his contract today. The promotion marks Omir's first stint in the Major Leagues.

After six seasons in the New York Yankees' organization, Santos signed with the Orioles prior to the 2008 season. With the club's Triple-A affiliate, the Norfolk Tides, Omir batted .273/.332./.328 in eighty-three games. Santos was also selected to play in this year's Triple-A all star game.

With Santos' callup the Orioles will have three ASG clients active on their major league roster. Omir joins fellow ASG clients Luis Montanez and Oscar Salazar.
